The idea of beauty in a surprising place gives me shivers. The juxtaposition of old against new, vintage with modern, is a fabulous way to create a look for your wedding day. Tracey and Ben were married at the Alder House, which is an early 1900’s mansion that was left to fall into disrepair many years ago. Walls with peeling paint mingled with a DIY photo booth (photos were used for favors), and dinner was served family style in the manor’s library. Tracey and Ben used a vintage typewriter for their guestbook, and Tracey knitted the top for their chuppah. They also created menus with a DIY crossword puzzle, personalized pencils, lyric sheets to sing along to the couple’s first dance, and the ceremony programs. And in a touch of creativity and fun, Tracey and her father decided to forgo a father-daughter dance for father vs. daughter ping-pong match!
