This necklace is a quick and easy way to make an original piece that will have everyone talking. Working with artist wire mesh allows you to use your creativity. You can make matching necklaces for your bridesmaids, and it can be a permanent piece in their jewelry box.
- 24-in wire mesh (10 or 18 mm, any color)
- Set of ribbon clasps
- 8 large hole crystal beads (any color)
- 48-in sheer ribbon (any color)
- Brooch (antique or your choice)
- 4 jumprings (4 and 16 mm, 2 each)
- Optional: 10 – 12-in chain (this is used to replace ribbon)

Step 1: With very sharp scissors, cut your artist wire mesh to 24 inches. With your flat nose pliers, fold one end of your wire mesh; fold over a minimum of two times.
Step 2: Place ribbon clasp over the end that has been folded, and close the clasp with your flat nose pliers.
Step 3: Insert large hole crystal beads onto wire mesh; spacing them out every 2 inches.
Step 4: Repeat steps 1 and 2 at the other end of the wire mesh.
Step 5: Pull apart the wire mesh between each bead with your fingers.
Step 6: Add the 2-mm jumprings to each ribbon clasp, then add the 16-mm jumprings.
Step 7: Thread ribbon through the 16-mm jumprings.
Step 8: When you tie the ribbon, add the broche to the knot to cover it up and secure it.
You can wear it as a choker (14 – 16 in) or princess length (17 – 19 in).
