Colorado is full of beautiful scenery, and Elizabeth and Brian took full advantage of it by getting married at the summit of Pikes Peak. They used the location to inspire the invitations (which were based off vintage Pikes Peak postcards and done by a family member) and the DIY elements throughout the reception were created by the couple and several family members. They had a local restaurant cater their wedding, and used sunflowers in galvanized watering cans collected by Elizabeth’s mother to add a colorful touch.

Thank you to my wonderful photographer Amanda Lamb for submitting our wedding to DIY and thank you DIY for presenting our wedding to future brides and grooms. We had so much fun planning this wedding and I am still amazed we were able to pull it off at 14,000 feet in elevation….with PERFECT weather and PERFECT guests. As easy as it would have been to hire someone to plan our wedding, having amazingly talented friends and family (and using all of Colorado’s beautiful elements) to help create such a beautiful and memorable wedding makes it worth “Doing it Yourself” over hiring someone else to do it for you. The key is to stay relaxed, have fun with it and know that everything will fall into place. Thank you again!!!

Elizabeth and Brian are proof that the old saying about “Cooler heads prevail” being true! These two had the greatest, happiest attitude, and it was so clear that the were thrilled to be starting their lives together. I had so much fun getting to know them and their families!
