When it comes to desserts I am obsessed with bitesized sweets. I am not sure if it is because I feel less guilty about eating them or because they are just so cute. Check out these Apple Pie Bites I made as a Thanksgiving treat.
Supplies
- 1 Apple
- Crescent Roll Dough
- 3 tbsp of butter
- Apple Pie Spice Or Cinnamon, Nutmeg, and Cardamom
- Brown Sugar
- Parchment Paper
- Baking Pan
*I made a double batch so I needed 2 apples and 2 packages of crescent rolls.
Time
- Prep 10 Minutes
- Bake time 10-15 Minutes
Difficulty
- They were very simple and quick to assemble.
First, preheat your oven to 375˚F. Then, peel and slice your apples. I used an apple slicer to cut my apples. If you are not using a slicer note that the crescent rolls come 8 to a pack so you will want to be sure that you have 8 apple slices. While you are cutting your apples you will want to soften your butter. Once both steps are complete, pour about 1 tablespoon of butter over the apples and mix.
In a separate container mix together 1/3 cup brown sugar and 1 teaspoon apple pie seasoning or 1 tsp of cinnamon and 1/2 tsp of nutmeg and a 1/4 tsp of cardamom. I left out the cardamom because I didn’t have it in my pantry, and I still think they tasted delicious. Use what you have!
Separate and lay your crescent rolls on a parchment lined baking pan.
Sprinkle the cinnamon and brown sugar mixture onto the rolls.
Place an apple on top and drizzle a small amount of butter over the apples.
Roll the apples into the crescent rolls, baste with butter, and sprinkle with the remainder of the cinnamon sugar mix.
Place in a 375˚F oven for 10-15 minutes. Let cool for 2 minutes before plating. These left my home smelling better than any fall candle you could purchase. Serve with vanilla ice cream, apple butter, or on their own!
I am excited to try this recipe, using other fillers like peaches or Nutella! Send us your Apple Pie Bite photos to hello@diybride.com or tag us @DIYBrideBlog on Instagram.
