Hilary & Elliott’s Elegant Costa Rica Wedding

Destination weddings are wonderfully romantic, don’t you think? Who wouldn’t love to run away to an exotic location with their dearest loved ones and celebrate their love in paradise?

Hilary and Elliott did just that with their simple-but-elegant wedding at the Langosta Beach Club in Costa Rica.
From photographer Katherine Stintett of Katherine Stintett Photography:

Hilary and Elliott wanted lots of candle light, fresh natural backdrops, poolside and ocean views and, most importantly, a really comfortable and relaxed atmosphere for their guests. The colour scheme consisted of ivory and soft peachy/coral tones along with navy, gold and glitter accents. Together we created a really romantic and fun experience for the guests and focused on utilizing as much space as possible at the Langosta Beach Club by using different interactive areas for guests to enjoy. Cabanas poolside for those who wanted to drink, chat and mingle; a dance floor area under palm trees and string lights; a vanity fair inspired photo booth with handmade (by the bride) vintage feather masks; and a bonfire, s’mores bar with lounge furniture down by the beach where guests lit sparklers and danced the night away! Hilary was very hands on with custom projects and beautifully crafted décor elements for both the ceremony and reception. This certainly added a very personal touch to the wedding. All in all, a beautiful day for a beautiful couple!

Ashley + Joey’s Eco-friendly Costa Rica Wedding (need imgs)

Definitely in the top five of my “things I’m thankful for” list are destination weddings!  Especially ones in exotic and tropical locations like Ashley + Joey’s that incorporated all kinds of green DIY and are captured so perfectly by talented photographers like Katherine Stinnett Photography.  Ashley and Joey wed where they got engaged in Costa Rica, and with some help from friends, family and one heck of a DIY dream event planner, they all created a wondrous aura of adventure, peace, serenity, and perfection.

From the planner:

In our years of living in the Mal Pais / Sta Teresa area we have come to realize that the beauty of it all lies in NATURE. It is this that inspires our design ,that gives us the urge to create and celebrate love. The need to conserve what we have and utilize what is already here, this is the reason we work with natural elements and upcycled items, minimizing the ecological impact in our little piece of paradise and using our creativeness to execute magical moments without making an impact on our planet.

Ashley’s got that perfect color sense to know a good aura when she sees one- and so she choose Mal Pais Green Weddings and Events to coordinate this lovely day.  They not only stick to their commitment to the environment but also are stellar crafters.  They created the beer bottle candelabras, the coconut fiber wrapped succulent pots, the driftwood signs, and the gorgeous bamboo arch made of bamboo from a local garden.  Ashley’s grandmother, who could not attend, created the invite itineraries and menus.

Thank you to Katherine Stinnett Photography, and Mal Pais Green Weddings for sharing and creating this beautiful beach soiree!  Congratulations Ashley and Joey!

Courtney + Justin’s Costa Rica Destination Wedding

When A Brit and a Blonde send us anything, I just know it’s going to be spectacular.  They have a way of capturing moments and sharing beautiful stories that make you feel like you were there sharing the experience.  And once again, they have not disappointed!  And boy are you going to enjoy this experience!  They joined Courtney and Justin in Costa Rica for an amazing destination wedding that was more than just a Scrabble inspired extension, it was the full circle completion of their single lives.  From the photographer, Jessica:

Courtney & Justin first laid eyes on each other in Nosara, Costa Rica. A super lovely, quiet surf village. Courtney walked into the lobby of the Harmony Hotel and they started talking and the rest is history. So for their wedding, they knew they had to have a destination wedding and bring their friends and fam to the place where they first met. We recreated the first time they met for their first look and it was so lovely.

This wedding is so full of scorching details far beyond the sunny, tropical locale! Courtney is so beyond stunning in a drool worthy Claire Pettibone gown and her veil which was a gift from her designer friend at Veil Trends.  (It’s so good to have friends with cool jobs!) To add a cool new spin on a seaside ceremony, Courtney and Justin had a seashell wish ceremony where.  Each guest chose a shell as they entered and came up during the ceremony to place a “wish shell” in a gorgeous glass vase.  What a beautiful keepsake to cherish forever! And let’s not forget the DIY that makes this wedding  no joke double .  Each Scrabble name plate and sign were created by bride Courtney.  And those exquisite embroidered napkins?  Yep!  That’s DIY diva Courtney too!  She embroidered them all herself while her lovely mother created the most perfect ring pillow.  Her beautiful blush bridesmaids also helped to create all of the bouquets and floral arrangements.

Now I’m not sure what the highest possible Scrabble score is, but Courtney and Justin got it.  Talk about rack management!  Combining perfect photography of A Brit and a Blonde with a dream Costa Rican destination, some scrumptious looking drinks, a little Scrabble style and lot of high style they’ve created a not soon-to-be forgotten day in my book.  Thank you A Brit and Blonde for sharing this amazing event.  Congratulations Courtney and Justin!

Ann + Mark

Lovely sighs all around this afternoon – Chinese lanterns figure prominently in this wedding, and I love them so much. The effect is stunning. Be sure to take a beat this afternoon and check out today’s wonderful Real Wedding gallery. Ann and Mark are both graphic designers, and they designed every inch of their destination wedding with a warm color wheel of reds and yellows to emphasis the latin vibe. They letterpressed and screen printed the invites, welcome bags, and coasters, as well as creating the decor.
