Michele + Sean

The bride for this wedding, Michele, designed everything for her wedding – everything. Flower arrangements, centerpieces, decor, chair covers, table linens, wall decorations, napkin rings, and even her dress. The bursts of color created a day that spoke to the heart of what a wedding is – a day of love, joy, and merriment.

Renee + Evan

Renee and Evan, the couple from this wedding, designed every aspect of their wedding. This included the decor, flowers, and cake. Renee even spent time before the ceremony arranging every guest’s table setting!  One of the perks of planning your wedding and being involved in all the DIY details is getting to design the experience that your guests have.

Erin + Randy

One of the best things about DIY weddings is how they are such a family-oriented event. If you have crafty friends, neighbors and family members, crafting for your wedding can be a great way to bond and create wonderful memories in the days leading up to your wedding. Erin, her mother, and extended family created everything from the cake topper to the table linens, and the end result was a stunning day.

An Engagement Session With Sheila + Austin

On occasion we share with you the engagement sessions of DIY couples. The photos may or may not contain DIY projects or elements; most often, it’s just the couple having fun in front of the camera.  Today we’re sharing the e-session of Sheila and Austin, a super-cute couple from Florida.

Lauren + Trevor

A great wedding doesn’t have to be a huge, blow-out event. It can be a small, intimate gathering on a beach followed by dinner at your favorite restaurant like Lauren and Trevor’s August ’09 wedding. Scaling down doesn’t mean sacrificing fun or meaning or style. Take a peek at how it’s done.

Details:

Couple: Lauren + Trevor

Wedding Date: 08/2009

Location: Jacksonville, Florida

Photographer: Thomas Lester Photography

Reception Venue: Maggiano’s Little Italy Jacksonville

Floral Designer: Kuhn Flowers

Photographer’s notes about the wedding: Laruen, the bride, organized everything. The only two vendors was the reception vendor (who provided the catering, bar, and cake) and the florist. Lauren collected sea shells for weeks to create an aisle and altar area. She also lined the altar with twigs she purchased. Lauren’s mom made ornamental balls for the bridesmaids to wear.
