Cristiana + Mauro

While the DIY movement is largely popular in the U.S., it’s easy to forget that the do-it-yourself wedding as we know it is still gaining traction in other parts of the world. When I received this submission from photographers Fibre di Luce, I knew I had to share Cristiana and Mauro’s, our firsrt Italian couple, wedding with you!

In the words of the photographers:

They’ve got no money, but lot of love and lot of good friends eager for great fun.
The bride did her make-up and hair all by herself, and bought her dress in a local shop.
The favors, too, are a DIY solution: the bride bought some small wooden pots at a local marketplace
and decorated the with rafia. The simple but elegant bouquet was manufactured by a bride’s friend.
After a civic ceremony in Villa Lais (Rome) with their closest friends and relatives, the couple
met their friends in the evening at “L’Espargo” beach in Maccarese and continued their “spaghetti
party” until late night.

A beach wedding in Rome? This sounds like a perfect, joyous wedding to me!
